There is alot that needs to be done. There is even more that we all want to be done. Let's break it down, the only way things get done is by doing them. For all the discussions about the power of delegation or prioritizing items, taking up responsibility and getting it done is, well, how it gets done.
I had the opportunity this weekend to work with the Great Steps for NF walk - a great charity out of St. Charles, IL and one of the largest walks to benefit NF research in the country. Along with 800 of my closest friends, we all pitched in and raised over $100k. The cause of neurofibromatosis (NF) is great and pretty under-publicised given its' prevalance. The take-away from this year's success for me is how a group of like-minded folks can come together and make something special happen.
While the cause is important, the lesson is as well. Every day we have an opportunity to find those things that we share in common with others around us. Are you looking for these shared passions to help make things happen or do you fall into the trap of sharing in divisiveness? You can make a difference every day - maybe not by helping with a fundraiser walk - but don't lose those opportunities to get something positive done!
